Rain

Woke up this morning with
a terrific urge to lie in bed all day
and read. Fought against it for a minute.

Then looked out the window at the rain.
And gave over. Put myself entirely
in the keep of this rainy morning.

Would I live my life over again?
Make the same unforgivable mistakes?
Yes, given half a chance. Yes.

– Raymond Carver

What To Want

We can never know what to want, because, living only one life, we can neither compare it with our previous lives nor perfect it in our lives to come.

– Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Come For Me

Come for me if you wish, I will not run.  Find me, find me in the open places with arms spread to the sky and not a trace of fear on the breath of my voice.  I care not of the darkness in your hills, I worry not of the fire in your clouds.  I am here, I have always been here.

– Tyler Knott Gregson
